ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 Certification success for IT solutions business

Over the years, Qudos has helped hundreds of organizations to develop and maintain efficient and effective management systems. That may be for Quality, Information Security, AI, OHS, and Environmental management – or any combination of those. Occasionally, we like to publish an article that tells the story of one client – typically when they achieve a milestone such as an ISO certification. We usually draft the article and ask a senior person in the client business to review it and provide a quotation. This time, we would like to present something a little different.

TechnoCrew is a cloud and IT service provider to SMEs based at locations in Queensland and NSW, Australia. Qudos commenced work with Technocrew in late 2025 on establishing their management system, and they recently achieved accredited certification for both ISO 27001 Information Security and ISO 9001 Quality management.

We asked the principal Aaron Harch just 3 questions and his answers explained their ISO journey so well, we thought we would just share them with you here.

Why was ISO 27001 certification important to you as an IT solutions provider? 

Achieving ISO27001 and ISO9001 certification was important to us because it demonstrated a genuine commitment to both information security and service quality across our MSP (Managed Services Provider) operations.

As an MSP responsible for critical client systems, cloud infrastructure, and sensitive business data, we wanted to ensure we had internationally recognised frameworks governing how we manage risk, security, processes, and continual improvement.

The certifications also provided our clients with additional confidence that our internal standards, governance, and operational controls are independently verified and aligned with industry best practice.

What was gained from the process of implementing a management system?

The certification journey delivered far more value than simply obtaining the certificates themselves. Internally, it helped us formalise and mature many of our existing processes, improve documentation standards, strengthen risk management practices, and create greater consistency across operations. It also increased staff awareness around security, compliance, and quality management, while helping identify opportunities for continual improvement.

From a business perspective, it has strengthened client trust, improved our ability to meet procurement and compliance requirements, and positioned us more competitively when engaging with larger organisations and security-conscious customers.

How did Qudos software and services help you develop the management system and achieve certification?

The Qudos Gap Analysis Service and the Qudos³ IMS software platform were exceptional throughout the entire certification journey.

The gap analysis process gave us clear direction on where we stood, what improvements were required, and how to prioritise remediation activities effectively.

The software made the ISO27001 and ISO9001 implementation process far more structured, transparent, and manageable by clearly mapping requirements, tracking evidence, managing actions, and providing visibility into overall compliance progress. What could have been a very complex and time-consuming project became far more streamlined and organised through the platform. The support and guidance provided alongside the software were equally impressive.

The practical approach, combined with the usability of the Qudos platform, significantly reduced the administrative overhead and helped keep the project moving efficiently.

Overall, the software and service played a major role in helping us successfully achieve certification and made the entire process a far more positive experience than we initially expected.
